Terms of service

This is template text, not legal advice. It is a plain-language sketch of the terms a small SaaS product usually needs, written so that the page has something real in it. Have a lawyer write or review the version you publish, and replace this file entirely.

The agreement

These terms cover your use of the service. By creating an account you accept them. If you are accepting them for a company, you are confirming that you are allowed to.

Your account

You are responsible for what happens under your account, including for the people you invite into your organization. Keep your credentials to yourself, turn on two-factor authentication, and tell us promptly if you think an account has been compromised.

An organization’s owner can remove members, change roles and delete the organization. Deleting an organization deletes its data.

Acceptable use

Do not use the service to break the law, to send unsolicited bulk email, to host malware, to attack other systems, or to store data you have no right to store. Do not attempt to circumvent the limits of your plan, and do not resell access without an agreement to do so.

Security research is welcome, within the terms of the disclosure policy — probe your own account and organization, not other customers’.

Plans and payment

Paid plans are billed in advance, monthly or yearly, in the currency shown at checkout. Prices can change; a change takes effect at your next renewal and you will be told before it does. Cancelling stops the next renewal — the current period is not refunded on a pro-rata basis unless the law requires it.

Failed payments are retried on a schedule. If they keep failing, the subscription moves to the free tier rather than the data being deleted.

Availability

The service is provided as it is. We work to keep it available and we publish incidents, but nothing here is a guaranteed uptime commitment unless you have a separate agreement that says so.

Your data

You keep ownership of the data you put into the service. We store and process it to provide the service, as described in the privacy policy. You can export it at any time, including after cancelling and before deletion.

Ending the agreement

You can close your account at any time. We can suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, and where it is reasonable to do so we will say what the breach was and give you a chance to fix it first.

Changes

Material changes to these terms are announced before they take effect. Carrying on using the service after that date means accepting the new version.
